Fri., June 7, 5:30-7:30 pm – First Friday Gallery Reception for “The CCA Presents Chelmsford’s Young Artists”, works on paper by Chelmsford High School students. The Gallery is open Sundays from 2-4 pm and Thursdays 2:30-6:30 pm. Ongoing in our “Promenade Gallery”: “IPad Paintings”, by Trina Teele, and paintings by Rita Thompson and Donna Berger.
Sun., June 9, 4:00-5:30 pm – The Art of Healing with Laughter with Lisa Wessan. You will learn some extraordinary joy-making techniques, including Laughter Meditation and Laughter Yoga (wear comfortable clothes an bring water). $15 at the door.
Wed., June 12, 7:00 pm – Solarize Chelmsford The Town of Chelmsford is participating in a program sponsored by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) that will allow residents and organizations to install solar panels to generate electricity at reduced prices. A public meeting is will include presentations by MassCEC, local volunteers, and the installer selected by the Town and State (SolarFlair Energy). This is an opportunity to ask questions about whether solar electric systems will work for your home or business. The CCA Gallery is curated by Mary Woodward and Rita Thompson. The Gallery Hours are Sundays 2-4 pm, Thursdays, 2:30-6:30 pm, the first Friday of the month is the opening of that month's show from 5:30-7:30 pm. The Gallery is also open by appointment and at intermission during performances in Veterans' Memorial Auditorium.
JUNE
Chelmsford's Young Artists
The Chelmsford Center for the Arts (“CCA”) will be hosting an exhibit of artworks by twelve promising Honors Art and Advanced Placement (A.P.) Art students from Chelmsford High School. “Chelmsford’s Young Artists” will be on display in the Gallery from June 7th through June 30th, 2013. The featured work above is Tanya Dimitrov's pastel, Blanket of Snow.
The Opening Reception is this Friday, June 7th, 5:30 to 7:30pm in the Gallery at the CCA. The public is welcomed; light refreshments will be served.
The exhibited pieces were selected by Chelmsford High School art teachers Mrs. Paula Pitman Brown and Mrs. Bette Gagnon. The students participating are Lexi Blair, Emily Moreau, Michelle Janiak, Emily Tierney and Emmeline Zhu, who were students in Mrs. Brown’s A.P.Art Portfolio class. In addition, Casey Beaudoin, Sarah Booth, Cassandra Cairns, Shelley Carpenter, Tanya Dimitrov, Emma Suleski and Rachel Shiau have been students of Mrs. Gagnon’s Honors Art Portfolio class this year.
“We’re excited to have this opportunity to showcase the works created by these talented Chelmsford High School students. The Gallery at the CCA is devoted to displaying the work of local artists and these young artists of Chelmsford show immense talent and range. We admire their dedication to their art and wish them every success as they pursue further study in art”, noted Rita Thompson and Mary Woodward, Gallery Co-Curators.
